1. G\u00e9omorphologie<\/strong>
La p\u00e9ninsule d'Athos est \u00e9troite et allong\u00e9e, avec un rapport longueur\/largeur compris entre 5:1 et 9:1. Son terrain est escarp\u00e9, ce qui favorise l'\u00e9coulement rapide de l'eau et emp\u00eache la stagnation des eaux de surface. Le mont Athos, qui culmine \u00e0 2 033 m\u00e8tres, domine le paysage et cr\u00e9e des reliefs prononc\u00e9s ainsi que des microclimats localis\u00e9s gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 ses ravins et ses vall\u00e9es.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

2. Sol et g\u00e9ologie<\/strong>
Les sols sont principalement calcaires et granitiques. Les sols calcaires offrent un excellent drainage, refl\u00e8tent la lumi\u00e8re du soleil et contribuent \u00e0 maintenir l'acidit\u00e9 des raisins. Les sols granitiques, bien que plus pauvres en nutriments, sont l\u00e9g\u00e8rement acides (pH <7) et contribuent \u00e0 l'intensit\u00e9 aromatique des raisins. Cette l\u00e9g\u00e8re acidit\u00e9 am\u00e9liore \u00e9galement la disponibilit\u00e9 des oligo-\u00e9l\u00e9ments tels que le fer, le mangan\u00e8se et le zinc, qui sont b\u00e9n\u00e9fiques pour le m\u00e9tabolisme de la vigne.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

3. Implications viticoles<\/strong>
Les vignobles sont g\u00e9n\u00e9ralement plant\u00e9s \u00e0 faible altitude (5-50 m) pr\u00e8s de la mer, ce qui assure une forte r\u00e9gulation thermique et r\u00e9duit les temp\u00e9ratures extr\u00eames. Les pentes orient\u00e9es au nord-est sont plus fra\u00eeches, ce qui entra\u00eene une maturation plus tardive des raisins, tandis que les pentes orient\u00e9es au sud-ouest re\u00e7oivent plus de lumi\u00e8re du soleil, ce qui entra\u00eene une maturation plus rapide.
